Reading the Bible in 90 Days

I've added a new page to the blog. It is called "Daily Bible Readings" and you will find it right under the orange header with the other pages of this blog.

If we follow the readings as listed, we will read the entire Bible in 90 days. If we start tomorrow, October 1, we will read the entire Bible by year's end. The list balances readings from the Old and New Testaments. This will allow us to keep both Testaments in mind. The list also evenly distributes readings from the Psalms and Proverbs. This will allow us to appreciate them better than if we consecutively read the chapters in either book.

If we stick with this 90-day list of readings, we will be able to read through the entire Bible four times each year. If we do that, we will develop a much greater sense of the whole. We will be able to recall, much more easily, biblical passages that are analogous to the situations we face in daily life. By God's grace, we will each strengthen our Christian personality and weaken our Olympian personality. By his grace, we will also witness more clearly to all the truth, freedom, love, and vitality that are ours already in Jesus Christ.

If we are not able to complete the readings on any given day, we need not be discouraged. We need only do the best we can. Any reading of the Bible is good. Developing the ability to read it in a sustained way takes practice and is even better.
